Kanye west is a 12 time grammy award winning rapper that started his fame off with Roc-A-Fella Records. Not only is he a singer but hes also a record producer and actor.Hes best known as being the rapper and producer of " Through the Wire". He started off by getting hired by Jay- Z and he produced songs for the Blueprint which was released in 2001. He also has produced for Ludacris, Alicia Keys, and Jaime Foxx. Three years later Kanye released his own debaut album called College Dropout and his latest one released 808 & Heartbreak that came out in the year 2007. His mascot and trademark is a teddy bear that has been displayed 3 of his 4 album covers called the "Drop out bear". To show how hardworking Kanye West truly is in October 2003, he got in a terrible car accident which caused him to have to wire his mouth shut and he still found a way to record " Jesus Walks"which won best rap song at the Grammy Awards.

I (Allie) feel Kanye West has meaning to his songs instead of just rapping about innapropiate and useless things such as sex, drugs, and violence such as other rappers that are popular today. Which also makes him a much better influence on kids and how they do things. They look up to rappers and artists and this is someone they can truly look up too. His lines are also very catchy and entertaining that easily stick into your head after you hear it just a few easy times. My group members Danielle and Josh agree with everything i stated and also added they enjoy how sometimes his mood can change in different songs of his. For example: some can be just happy and upbeat and others can be slow or really mean something to him or is important in his life. For instance: His song "Hey Mama" which represents how much he cares for and appreciates his mom and after she passed away in surgery he dedicated it to her even more which was really sweet and kind to show the world how much he loves her.

On Sepetember 2nd, 2005 Kanye West had a benefit concert for the affected people of Hurricane Katrina. All the money he made in the concert went to them. The company was NBC universal television. Some filming locations were NBC studios, Manhatten, New York City,New York USA. It was on over 20 different US TV channels: NBC, ABC, CBS, FOX, PBS, PAX, USA, TV Guide, Cinemax, TBS, Turner South, Lifetime TV, Soap Net, MTV, VH1, and a few others. The runtime was 60 minutes. This was a very generous and selfless thing for him to do because he could have had all that money he made for himself because of how hard he worked at the concert but instead gave it to others. Its something not many people would too and he is looked up for that act of kindness.

He was born on June 8th 1977 in Atlanta, Georgia as an only child. His trademark is uses of alliteration in raps. His parents divorced at the age of 3 years old. He attended Chicago State University and dropped out for his music career. In 2005 he was nominated for 10 grammies and won 3. He has his own record label named G O O D which stands for getting out our dreams.His mom, that he was dearly close to died Donda West on November 10th 2007 for complications in surgrey.Kanye also had a fiancée, who was a clothing designer named Alexis Phifer but they ended there engagment on April 21, 2008.
